Meet Vincent, the Guy Dating Catherine

Relationships are hard.  They take work and patience.  However, when Vincent, the main character of Atlus’ upcoming title Catherine, hears about these rumors that men are disappearing, and his girlfriend starts talking about marriage, he gets scared and starts having nightmares.  Atlus has released a new video about his issue.

The video–which introduces viewers to the likeable if at times disappointing Vincent, the 32-year old protagonist at the heart of the game’s tale of love, betrayal, and the terrors of commitment–paints a more detailed picture of his life, his state of mind, and his interpersonal dilemmas.

“Vincent is very far from the typical video game protagonist,” stated Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales at ATLUS.  “He is indecisive.  He is unsure of where he wants his relationship with Katherine, his girlfriend, to go.  Very often, he seems incapable of doing the right thing at the right time, allowing complications–the very things he is so keen to keep his life free of–to multiply.  Learning more about Vincent and his motivations is the perfect way to gain a better understanding of Catherine’s core philosophy and narrative themes.”

The ethics of the game sound interesting.  Be sure to check out the full Press Release and the video to find out more about this protagonist.

While not working as a Database Administrator, Keith Schleicher has been associated with Gaming Trend since 2003. While his love of video games started with the Telestar Alpha (a pong console with four different games), he trule started playing video games when he received the ill-fated TI-99/4A. While the Speech Synthesizer seemed to be the height of gaming, eventually a 286 AT computer running at 8/12 Hz and a CGA monitor would be his outlet for a while. Eventually he’d graduate to 386, 486, Pentium, and Athlon systems, building some of those systems while doing some hardware reviews and attending Comdex. With the release of the Dreamcast that started his conversion to the console world. Since then he has acquired an NES, SNES, PS2, PS3, PSP, GBA-SP, DS, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One S, Gamecube, Wii, Switch, and Oculus Quest 2. While not playing video games he enjoys bowling, reading, playing board games, listening to music, and watching movies and TV. He originally hails from Wisconsin but is now living in Michigan with his wife and sons.
