One of the best games of 2010 is now available on the Playstation Vita, developer Playdead announced today. Limbo will support cross-buy, meaning a purchase of Limbo on the Vita will open the PS3 version as well. As a part of Summer of Arcade 2010, Limbo was released to rave reviews and an excited fan base that had been anticipating its launch since the Independent Games Festival. With its mystifying and atmospheric visuals, Playdead created an experience that had been matched by no previous video game.
The visuals were only a slice of what Limbo did well as the gameplay was equally unique. Featuring puzzles that simultaneously challenged the mind and conscious as the repercussions for failing a puzzle were often based around your young protagonist getting beheaded in some way. Granted it has been three years since its release, Limbo still shines in my mind as one of the best XBLA games on the service.
Better late than never, but you can purchase Limbo on the PSVita (via PSN) for its original launch price of $14.99. European Limbo lovers will have to wait a day as Limbo launches tomorrow for €12.99.
