Latest patch for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora brings with it more than 150 improvements

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora’s latest update brings with it more than 150 improvements, including quality of life improvements such as increased maximum Direhorse speed and an increased stash size, combat improvements such as more reliable weak points, UX improvements such as DualSense motion aiming and the ability to visually hide gear, and technical improvements such as PC benchmark updates. A new patch for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora™ deployed on March 1, bringing more than 150 fixes and adjustments to the game. Title Update 3 includes technical, UI, balancing, main quest, and side quest improvements, plus additional bug fixes. To provide players with an improved experience, the development team, led by Massive Entertainment, listened to feedback from the community while working on Title Update 3. An additional patch, Title Update 3.1, was deployed on March 7, adding additional fixes to the game.

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Increased maximum Direhorse riding speed
  • Harvest while riding – It is now possible to harvest Arrow Stick Bushes and Dapophet Pods while riding a Direhorse.
  • Direhorse aiming improved – Improved aiming with bows while mounted.
  • Access stash while crafting – Stashed items can now be accessed directly when using the Crafting Table, Cooking Station and Community Basket.
  • Increased stash size – Stash capacity has been increased from 200 to 250.
  • Improved time skip – Added the time of day in the prompt text when interacting with the Fire Pit to pass time.
  • Improved haptics – Several improvements to haptic effects throughout the game.

Combat Improvements

  • More reliable weakpoints – Increased the hitbox size of the AMP Suits’ vent weak spots so they’re easier to hit while remaining in stealth.
  • Improved stealth detection – Slowed down the time it takes for an enemy unit to alert the rest of the nearby units of the player’s presence.
  • Quicker return to stealth – Made tweaks to stealth gameplay to make it easier to return to stealth when an enemy spots the player.
  • Improved reinforcements calling – Made tweaks to enemy reinforcement calling to make it easier to interrupt the RDA from pressing the alarm. Only one enemy unit can call for reinforcements at any given time.
  • Made Easy difficulty even easier – Made the combat challenge on Medium and Low difficulties more accessible.

UX Improvements

  • DualSense™ motion aiming – Added the option to enable Motion Aiming with the DualSense controller.
  • Tuned Apex skill criteria – Adjusted several Apex Challenges to make Apex skills more easily accessible
  • Improved Hacking interface – Improved the usability and introduction of the SID tool.
  • Improved stat preview on inspect – Added buffs and skills into account in the stat range display when inspecting plants or looking at the Hunter’s Guide entries.
  • Improved objective highlights – Improved Na’vi Sense navigation to make it easier to spot characters and smaller objectives.
  • Added menu narration in English – [English Only] Menu Narration updated to read out Quests, Tutorials and most HUD notifications.
  • Ability to visually hide gear – Gear and gear mods for head, arms and legs can now be visually hidden via the Cosmetics menu.

Technical Improvements

  • New motion blur settings – Added new motion blur settings to control the overall strength; added the ability to control camera motion blur separately from object motion blur; [Xbox Series X|S, PS5] added a motion blur option for the ‘Performance’ graphics mode.
  • FSR 3 improvements – [All Platforms] Improved AMD FidelityFX™ Super Resolution 3 (FSR3) artefacts; fixed FSR3 artefacts on the UI when frame generation was enabled.
  • PC Benchmark improvements – [PC] Benchmark: Fixed FPS tracking when using FSR3 frame generation; benchmark: fixed CPU tracking reporting low CPU utilization on Windows 10; benchmark: added additional information to the generated results file.
