Justin Roiland’s new game is as strange as you’d expect

In the middle of Sony’s E3 press conference, Squanch Games, the studio from the mind behind Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, announced Trover Saves the Universe. The trailer showed a guy lounging in a bathtub (aptly named Bathtub Guy) showing some of the game’s wacky vibe. It seems to be a 3D platformer with some light melee combat, but little of the gameplay was actually shown.

It will be coming out for PS4 and PSVR early 2019. If you’re a fan of Rick and Morty, this game shares a very similar sense of humor, so this should be right up your alley.

We’ve got some time before it’s out, but in the meantime check out the trailer and the press release Squanch Games put together to get a sense for yourself if this is for you. Then keep it here on Gaming Trend for any further updates and everything you need to know coming out of E3.

Nathan lives in Colorado catching Pokemon on the Go and at home. He previously spent three months interning for Game Informer before coming back to Gaming Trend to spread the good word on video games. His real passion, though, is collecting different versions of the 3DS and other weird Nintendo garbage. It's a never-ending quest for less space in his house.
