My Dreamcast and Xbox both came to me fairly late in their lifespans, and for all the time I spend revisiting older games, the Jet Set Radio games are still a gap in my gaming experience. Luckily I’ll have another chance to fill it in this summer when a high-definition remake of the original Jet Set Radio comes to modern consoles.
DJ Professor K, Beat, Gum, and all the GGs are taking to the streets in this upgraded HD version of Jet Set Radio, which sees players vying for control of the futuristic Tokyo-to by marking their turf with graffiti tagged across walls, billboards, and rival gang members. The slick gameplay, genre-blending soundtrack and pioneering art style of Jet Set Radio will be coming to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®Network, and Windows PC Digital Download this summer.
No specific release day is set, but the press release goes on to mention an upcoming contest for you aspiring artists to design eighteen new pieces of art Sega’s planning to add to the game. If you think your digital tagging skills are up to the task, full details on how to participate can be found at the official Sega contest site.
