It’s time to find yourself in the wonderful world of Rehtona, available on Steam now

Today, Dot 4 Joy announced that it has released its puzzle-platformer game Rehtona today on Steam. The game features 32 levels chock full of puzzles as players will guide the titular character with the goal to find herself.

As Rehtona attends an event in the plaza, the world as she knows it begins to change without warning – and another world appears to overlap with reality. Suddenly, Rehtona finds herself alone in the plaza – and an unfamiliar door appears before her eyes. A weak voice can be heard behind the door … calling her name.

Rehtona musters up the courage to open the door, but she can only see a desolate landscape beyond it. Then her own world begins to shatter as she falls into unconsciousness.

When she wakes up, she realizes that she’s still in her own world – but this world has now become empty and isolated … similar to what she saw on the other side of the door. She then finds a photo lying in front of her house containing a simple yet mysterious message: “Find yourself.”

“The story and characters in REHTONA were inspired by a curiosity of the unknown and a deep appreciation for the spirit of exploration. Furthermore, the game is a love letter to all those wonderful 16-bit – and the occasional 32-bit – 2D platformers that blew our minds when we were kids,” says Yameng, Game Designer at Dot 4 Joy. “REHTONA can be deceptively simple, though: The corresponding Light and Shadow Worlds play an integral part in every single puzzle – requiring attention to detail and cunning in order to be solved.”
