You may have just read our preview for ASCENDANT.COM (yes, it’s the name of the game and the website), and the good news doesn’t stop there. Today, we found out we’ll all get the chance to play again very soon, with an open beta now scheduled for August 3-4. It’s limited to Steam for now, but the team at PlayFusion plans to look into a console release once the PC launch is ironed out. Go and wishlist the game here, and check out the beta announcement below.
Cambridge, UK, July 23 – Today PlayFusion announced that an Open Beta Weekend for its upcoming ‘80s-inspired indie Adaption Shooter, ASCENDANT.COM, will be available on PC via Steam on August 3 and 4. This marks the first time that ASCENDANT.COM will be available publically to players across the globe. Join the Beta Squad and get a first look at the explosive 3v3v3v3 FPS action coming to ASCENDANT.COM while providing valuable feedback that will shape the future of the game.
Servers will open to all players from August 3 to August 4 at the following times:
August 3: Open Beta begins at 7:00am PDT / 10:00am EDT / 3:00PM BST
August 4: Open Beta ends at 8:59pm PDT / 11:59pm EDT / 4:59am BST
“The PlayFusion team and I couldn’t be more pumped to be sharing this exciting opportunity with gamers to dive into the world of ASCENDANT.COM”, said studio co-founder & CEO Mark Gerhard, “once players get a chance to experience the world’s first ‘Adaption Shooter’ they’ll be recruiting friends and foes alike to test their skills and customisations against”
ASCENDANT.COM introduces a whole new way to dominate as the world’s first Adaption Shooter. Imagine a fluid, ever-evolving arena where no game is the same. Everything on the battlefield is always in flux to keep you guessing, bringing a whole new level of strategy to the shooter experience. Adapt or die is the motto.
Players can sign up for the upcoming Open Beta at https://ascendant.com/ or play via the game’s Steam page. Here’s what kind of chaos to expect on August 3:
Adapt or die trying: Those are the only options. Every time you go out, the map will be different, and everything wants you dead. With 4 teams and only 3 biocores, someone’s going home empty-handed. To walk away with this life-giving tree sap, you’ll need to plan, coordinate, and adapt when that plan goes to shit.
A Bio-Punk future: After being on ice for a thousand years, you’ve woken up to a Bio-Punk world that’s been beaten to a pulp by a cataclysmic event known as the Cascade. Luckily, the neon jumpsuits, leg warmers, and ‘80s rock anthems survived. Unfortunately, so did the tank-sized poison-spitting turtle things.
Dress to kill: Deep weapon customization affects not just the look of your arsenal, but also how they play, allowing you to adapt and enjoy lighting fools up even more. Plus, choose from hundreds of options to create a character that represents the futuristic, 80s, radical version of yourself. Whatever you choose, it’ll have blood all over it soon enough.
Don’t just stand there: Do something! Between matches, that is. When you’re not clocking headshots or running for your life, relax and explore the lobby. Here you can meet fellow fighters, challenge others to duels, try out weapons, play mini-games, prepare your loadout and more.
ASCENDANT.COM is available to wishlist on Steam right now. Find out more on the game’s official Discord and sign up for the Open Beta at https://ascendant.com/.
