The cold-blooded killer, Agent 47 is back for his most dangerous contract to date. Released today by Square Enix, Hitman: Absolution returns players to the world of the series for its fifth installment. Powered by developer IO Interactive’s new Glacier 2 technology, the game promises a cinematic experience within a living, breathing world, inside of which player choice will make or break each mission.
In addition to a single player campaign, the game introduces a new online mode called Contracts which allows players to create their own custom hit challenges within the game. Players choose the level and what weapons are available, then set rules to up the difficulty based on time, style, and how many witnesses survive. Players can compete against each other for higher scores, and upon completing a hit receive in-game money for unlocking special weapons, disguises, and techniques.
Hitman: Absolution follows Agent 47™, a cold-blooded assassin, who takes on his most dangerous contract to date. Betrayed by those he once trusted — and now hunted by the police — he suddenly finds himself at the center of a dark conspiracy and must embark on a personal journey through a corrupt and twisted world.
Hitman: Absolution is available now for PC, Xbox 360, PS3, and the Onlive cloud. Custom-tooled dual pistols sold separately.
