Halloween comes early

Halloween: The Game

IllFonic has unveiled the single player story mode for Halloween: The Game, the upcoming asymmetrical stealth horror title, during the 2026 Future Games Show. Digital pre-orders are now open, with the Standard Edition at $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $59.99, which includes an exclusive Michael Myers skin, two exclusive Civilians, and additional surprises. The game launches September 8, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

The storymode lets you step into the role of Michael Myers himself, retracing his escape from Smith's Grove Sanitarium and the events that built toward Halloween Night in 1978. Across six chapters narrated by Dr. Sam Loomis, you will discover how Myers came to wear his infamous jumpsuit and mask, claimed his iconic kitchen knife, and stalked his way toward the film's climactic babysitter encounter.

Cinematic cutscenes recreate shots and aesthetics from the original John Carpenter film while pushing the mythology in fresh directions, with a recreated Haddonfield that aims to feel authentic to longtime fans. I can't wait!

Halloween: The Game
Halloween: The Game, the upcoming asymmetrical stealth horror game developed and published by IllFonic, co-published with Gun Interactive, alongside partners Compass International Pictures and Further Front, teased the single-player storymode, as seen for the first time during today’s Future Games Show. Pre-orders for the digital edition begin today, with the Standard Edition priced at $39.99 and the Deluxe Edition at $59.99 (Includes: Game, 1 Exclusive Michael Myers Skin, 2 Exclusive Civilians, and more surprises!).
Live out the chilling story surrounding Michael Myers’ escape from Smith’s Grove Sanitarium and the terrifying events that followed. Embody pure evil as the true Boogeyman and commit the horrors leading to Halloween Night in 1978.
Cinematic story cutscenes introduce chapters, characters, and story beats with iconic Halloween aesthetics and shot recreations, building a Haddonfield inspired by the original film. Yet the game goes beyond paying homage to the seminal movie, taking it in creative new directions to inject surprises and build upon Michael Myers’ monstrous, mythical intrigue.
Become the Shape across six haunting chapters, slashing through new and familiar locations while Dr. Sam Loomis narrates his findings and experiences. Uncover how Myers acquired his iconic jumpsuit, mask, and kitchen knife, and orchestrated the deaths of every unsuspecting victim leading up to the final babysitter encounter. The single-player storymode weaves a mix of the original 1978 film while introducing space for player creativity: play and end Michael Myers’ bloody tale while making it personal.
Halloween: The Game’s sandbox approach continues in storymode, providing a multitude of ways to find, stalk, and kill victims. The perfect Michael Myers carefully stalks his targets, waiting for the right moment to execute kills for true murderous satisfaction. Yet he can’t always play with his prey: sometimes keeping the cops at bay necessitates a victim’s quick death.
Each chapter contains a distinct set of secondary challenges and collectibles that reveal new executions, scenarios, and lore, unlocking exclusive cosmetics for Multiplayer mode. Several difficulty options test and reward players who want to understand what it takes to be a truly ruthless Michael Myers.
