Hello, and welcome to our lovely Kickstarter update. If you are new, please check out this introduction. Here are four games that are certainly worth checking out.
Remember that I am in no way endorsing these games, I have not played them, I have not talked to the publishers. Back at your own risk.

March of the Ants
Apparent Weight: Medium
Genre: Exploration, variable player powers, larvae
Ryan and Tim have done their design homework. Taking queues from Race for the Galaxy, Eclipse and Twilight Imperium, March of the Ants looks like a solid entry in to the thematic strategy ring. One particular mechanic that I love is the secondary action mechanism. When I take action X, all other players get to perform Y. Sure, the ant theme has been done before, still this game still looks rather interesting.

Primo
Apparent Weight: Light-Medium
Genre:Math!
After watching their introduction video, I had flashbacks to elementary school trying to learn my multiplication tables. Things would have gone significantly better if I had a game like Primo. A game that is fun and educational deserves some special attention, take a look at Primo.

The Lord of the Ice Garden
Apparent Weight: Medium-Heavy
Genre: Area Control, Worker Placement
I got the impression that The Lord of the Ice Garden has already seen the light of retail, the KS is just bring the game to the US. For those looking for a pile of wooden bits and deep strategy, Ice Garden seems to be in full supply of both. This fully art covered game has plenty of information on the project page if interested.

Copper Country
Apparent Weight: Medium-Heavy
Genre: Area Control, Resource Management, Shifting Market
A Eurogame with theme? OOooohhh….
Previously, I didn’t have much interest about the history of copper in the upper peninsula of Michigan, but I do now! Copper Country looks like a surprisingly engaging game that has obviously been through a full compliment of game testing to reach its polished state. I just hope the icons have a cheat sheet somewhere, there seems to be a lot of them packed onto everything.
No musings this week! Next week I am going to discuss Early Bird Pledging, come back then.

From Trading in the Mediterranean to FPS, I love games. While I grew up in a house without consoles, PC gaming and board gaming were a large part of my formative years, and continue to influence my life. In this golden age of board gaming, I have jumped in headfirst in to anything table top. As a ludilogical student, I love thinking about how games work, their mechanics, their elegance and most importantly, enjoying how fun they are.
Favorite Board Game (at the moment): Twilight Struggle
Favorite PC Game (base solely on play time): Tie between WoW and DII
