Dan Greenawalt, Creative Director of Turn 10 Studios has once again taken to the Internets to talk with the community about Forza Motorsport 5. In his letter he outlines a bit of a change in the way DLC is handled, as well as bringing a much-requested change to the racer. Here’s the relevant bits from that letter before we get into the details of the most recent upgrade to the title – the Top Gear Car Pack.
This year marks the 12-year anniversary of Turn 10 Studios’ founding and, next year, we’ll celebrate the ten-year anniversary of the original “Forza Motorsport” on Xbox. Today, Turn 10 Studios Creative Director Dan Greenawalt shared a letter to the fervent community, sharing his personal thoughts on the new content that has come to “Forza Motorsport 5” since launch last November, and announced a new “Forza Motorsport 5” content update that will enhance the way cars are added to players’ garages.
As of today, players who have purchased DLC cars in “Forza Motorsport 5” can add those cars to their “Forza 5” garage immediately, at no additional in-game cost (in-game credits or tokens).
Moving forward, when you buy a Season Pass, a DLC car pack, or a single DLC car, you will be granted the one-time free addition of each car to your “Forza 5” garage, without needing to purchase them with in-game credits or tokens. This goes for all “Forza Motorsport 5” DLC (including cars in previous DLC car packs), starting today with the Top Gear Car Pack.
In addition, as requested by our fans, this most recent content update makes all of the initial 200 cars that launched with “Forza 5” available as rental cars.
With all of that said, we’ve also got our hands on some sweet screenshots of the Top Gear Car Pack, as well as some details on what’s in the pack.
The Top Gear Car Pack (included as part of the “Forza Motorsport 5” Car Pass) is now available for $9.99 and includes all ten cars, including the bonus 2013 Holden #10 Xbox Racing Team Commodore VF – all of which are immediately accessible in your “Forza Motorsport 5” garage. Each car can also be individually purchased, a la carte, via the Xbox Live marketplace.
With the Top Gear Car Pack, fans will have the chance to pit their driving skills against the Stig’s “Digital Cousin” in an all-new Rivals event set on the iconic Bathurst Circuit at Mount Panorama, Australia. All participants, upon successfully completing this Rivals event, will receive an in-game credit reward. Additional prizes will be awarded to those who finish in the Top 10, including a special Stig Prize Pack from Top Gear for the top winner.
All of the cars in the pack are available right now. Time to get back behind the driver’s seat!
