This is the last formal email you’ll be receiving from me prior to the game’s release. I’m pleased to share with you today, less than a week since we revealed our brand-new PvE mode, Exfil, the final pre-release trailer for Firewall Ultra: our LAUNCH trailer!
With Firewall Ultra slated to release on August 24, that means we’re mere days away from launch. The team is so proud of this trailer as it does a phenomenal job of showing off our new map, Crossroads, showcasing all of our Contractors, displaying our weapon and gadget diversity, and giving you a great idea of the intensity found within every match in our game. There’s really nothing else quite like it.
In today’s PS Blog we’re confirming 8 different maps for launch, including the all-new Crossroads map. This map takes place on the streets of a Middle Eastern city shortly after local rebels were in a firefight that led to a civilian evacuation. There are multiple buildings you can enter and you’ll notice some of them were being used as cells for rebel operations while others are typical domestic residences and businesses. There is a ton of variety in this map with lots of environmental storytelling to digest if you explore and soak it all in.
Every single map is fully playable in both PvE and PvP game modes so you’ll constantly find new ways to have fun in the world of Firewall Ultra. But since this is a live service title, August 24th is just the beginning of our adventure together with you, our players. We hope to enlist you in taking an active role in the ongoing evolution of Firewall Ultra as the game will see many updates over its life span and at the core of that initiative is our community. That’s our most valuable asset as we endeavor to constantly work on and improve the game.
And finally, we’re revealing the first teaser of our post-launch roadmap. Obviously, there are dozens of hours of gameplay in the core game as of right now with tons of stuff to unlock and plenty of weapons, maps, skills, gadgets, and more to master—but that’s just the start. We’ve already got an entire year of content slated for Firewall Ultra, which consists of 4 Operations that will each carry a new Contractor + skill, and a new weapon. With 60 rewards total, our Operations are major shifts in the game we can’t wait to start rolling out. Plus, on top of all that, over the first year, we’ll be releasing 2 new maps and 2 new co-op modes entirely for free. There’s a lot to digest here but believe me when I say this is truly only a small glimmer of what we have in store for you. Firewall Ultra is a tremendous labor of love that we’re so excited to share with the world extremely soon and it’s only going to get better and better with your help.
