Far Cry 5 is right around the corner, and today we’ve got a behind-the-scenes video showcasing Hope County, the game’s fictional-ish Montana setting. it also gives us another look at our four legged friend, Boomer.
The trailer shows off a few cool tools and toys you can use in your war against the cult ruling Hope County, including the meat-grinding front end of a tractor. There are also quiet moments, like the ones we described in our hands-on at E3, such as fishing.
In the tail end of my military service, I was stationed in Great Falls, Montana. I have to admit, the team at Ubisoft Montreal managed to capture the lookand feel of “Big Sky Country”.
While you fire up the video above, here’s the developer’s description for Far Cry 5.
Set in America, a first for the franchise, Far Cry 5 offers players total freedom to navigate a serene-looking yet deeply twisted world as the new junior deputy of fictional Hope County, Montana. Players will find that their arrival accelerates a years-long silent coup by a fanatical doomsday cult, the Project at Eden’s Gate, igniting a violent takeover of the county. Under siege and cut off from the rest of the world, players will join forces with residents of Hope County and form the Resistance.
Far Cry 5 releases on February 27, 2018 for PlayStation4 ,PlayStation 4 Pro, Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X, as well as PC. Look for our continued coverage as we move closer to that date.
Far Cry 5 picked up a nod for Best FPS and Best Multiplatform game at E3 2017.
