For the first time since its inception, I’m finally going to PAX Prime in Seattle, and stuff like this is the reason why. Art collective Attract Mode and merchandising powerhouse Fangamer are joining forces once again for Fangamer X Attract Mode — a collection of indie games, chiptune music, and fan art.
Two indie games will star in this multi-media art gallery: 17-Bit will be bringing their PlayStation 4 indie darling Galak-Z, while Capy will be bringing the weirdness with Synchroma. Also on offer are the musical stylings of Danimal Cannon and Virt. Rounding out the event will be pieces by dozens of artists who all have one thing in common: a ridiculous love for video games.
The event runs from 7pm to 12am on August 31st, and will be within walking distance of the convention center. All that stands between you and going to what appears to be a most excellent evening is $10 — and your physical presence in Seattle, of course. Check out the event page for more info. And if you’re going, hit me up! I’d love to meet you.
I've been gaming since my dad made the bad decision of buying me a Nintendo when I was four years old. Every day I'd find myself with my face glued to a TV screen, punching away at buttons, getting furious with Bowser, Dr. Wily, and those freakin' birds in Ninja Gaiden. Since then I have failed to get my parents to play any board game with me, I sold my full copy of Earthbound with box and guide for $300 to some dude in Austria for rent money, and I still believe in Nintendo even after all these years.
