Today, Frontier Developments announced details on Elite Dangerous: Beyond – Chapter 4, coming next week as the final update of 2018 as well as the final update in the Beyond season of updates. It will be available for free to all Elite Dangerous Commanders and include a new discovery system for exploration, advanced mining techniques, and more.
In this update is a new analysis mode with an improved Exploration Discovery Scanner and Detailed Discovery Scanner that will allow players to scan for stellar bodies and other phenomena. It’s intended to be more realistic and give players a heightened sense of discovery. New mining mechanics will be available as well, allowing players to investigate rings to find the best mining spots.
Squadrons have finally become available. Commanders can unite together and support factions of their choice, take part in Community Goals, and compete for top spots on the leaderboard.
