EA Sports’ 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil video game announced

EA Sports announced the upcoming release of EA Sports 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, the officially licensed video game of the FIFA World Cup to be hosted in Brazil this summer.  The game hits stores beginning April 15 in North America.

Promising to put players “in control of their nation’s fate,” EA Sports FIFA World Cup Brazil boasts all of FIFA 14’s gameplay improvements with a slew of new animations for passes, saves, and penalty kicks.  Feel the support of a nation” with dynamic crowd scenes with unique banners, signs, seat covers, and the like.  In addition, Live City events show the reactions of your fans in your home city.  Score a skillful goal with the English National team, and the game will flash to a scene of celebration back in a pub in downtown London.  That’s a classy touch, one that really needs to be looked at for other sports game franchises.

The game will include 203 national teams, 7,469 players, 19 officially licensed managers, and 21 new stadiums including all 12 authentic stadiums from Brazil.  Players can play with one to 32 players locally through the qualifying rounds, and on to the group stages of the FIFA World Cup.  In addition, the Road to Rio de Janeiro allows players to play through the various Brazilian stadiums on their way to Rio.  Lastly, the voice talents of Grantland’s Roger Bennett and Michael Davies, the Men in Blazers, as well as known commentators Ian Darke and Andy Goldstein illustrate and document the action.

EA Sports 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil is in development at EA Canada in Vancouver and will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. The game is available for preorder here. The game is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.
