With Diablo III rapidly approaching, and the beta being a no-holds-barred situation, I’ve decided to run through the beta with every character class and record the results for you! In this first video set, we see character creation of the Demon Hunter, a hastily built banner, how the minimap works, a few special skills, a miniboss, and the rescue of an old friend. Here are a few of my thoughts on the beta for this character:
The first thing I noticed is that the team at Blizzard are not trying to make World of Diablocraft. The action bar has only two skills available upon character inception, and leveling up grants you so many more – you won’t have an action bar as wide as your screen. Similarly, the classes seem very distinct from one another, each with a role to fill – not everyone is equal at everything. Also, there is no longer any sort of loading that would get you killed – once the initial load is complete, the game just plows along without a hiccup. For those of us who died several billion times fighting Durial, you’ll appreciate the lack of transition. Look for my continued impressions as I play through the other classes.
Welcome to the first 30 minutes of Diablo III, Demon Hunter style.
