Destiny 2 teaser image tweeted by Bungie

After several leaks and multiple earning call references, Destiny 2 has finally been officially acknowledged by way of an image tweeted by Bungie.

No official announcement accompanied the tweet, though during an annual earnings call, Activision made mention of their plans to release Destiny 2 later this year. Additionally, an image of a promotional poster for the unannounced game was leaked last week, along with an alleged release date of September 8, 2017.

Prior to this teaser image, Bungie had remained reticent on any details pertaining to a possible sequel to their shared-world shooter, focusing instead on their next content drop, the Age of Triumph, which will offer players of the original game a chance to revisit every Raid since launch at the current light level. Bungie recently revealed some of the loot players will receive as reward for completing these revitalized raids — but don’t expect to bring those goodies with you to Destiny 2; according to Bungie, Destiny 2 will not allow players to bring over any of their gear from the previous game.

Joe's favorite games are Zelda: Majora's Mask, Dishonored, Super Mario Bros. 3 and Hearthstone. His favorite game is not The Witcher 3 because he hasn't played it yet.
