Dark Souls E32011 Trailer

Namco and FROM Software are announcing the October 4th, 2011 release of their ‘spiritual successor’ to Demon’s Souls – Dark Souls.   Bringing the old-school punishing gameplay, Dark Souls looks absolutely gorgeous.  We’ve got a trailer to share with you, but check out this nibble from the folks at FROM first:

With Dark Souls, we’re able to bring the uniquely challenging and rewarding style of gameplay popularized by FROMSOFTWARE back to the PlayStation®3, as well as to the Xbox 360® platform for the first time,” says Carlson Choi, vice president of Marketing, NAMCO BANDAI Games America. “With its massive, seamless open world design, deep exploration, tense dungeon crawling, extreme battles, and an innovative online component that allows gamers to draw from the collective experience of the community, Dark Souls provides a gameplay experience unlike any other.

October is going to be a very busy month this year, but it looks like Dark Souls will start it off right!  Look for our continued coverage on this title as it draws nearer.  In the meantime…video!
