Cycle of Warfare, Starpoint Gemini Warlords’ new DLC, gets released next week

Today, LGM Games announced that it will release its biggest piece of DLC for its 4X game Starpoint Gemini Warlords next week. Entitled Cycle of Warfare, the DLC will be available on October 5 and will add five new playable factions that will tell Starpoint Gemini Warlords’ story from different perspectives.

In the Cycle of Warfare DLC players will be able to start their conquest over the Gemini system as one of three other established factions, each contending with their own rivals and advantages; Iolian Pact, Korkyra and Outerlands.

These conquest scenarios can be easily modified in-game to allow the players to customize their own starting advantage as they see fit.

Aside from regular conquest, players will find that we’ve added two amazing challenge scenarios for more experienced players:

  • Play as the A’ shriari. The unforgiving alien race bent on humanity’s extinction.
  • … or choose the life of an ambitious privateer and lead your clan to wealth and glory.

Both challenges modify the game’s rules in different ways, moving away from empire management towards riskier gameplay.

The A’shriari are convinced that the only way to complete victory is a brutal “scorched earth” military strategy. Their massive mothership is capable of burning entire planets, vaporizing all means of sustaining life.

LGM Games has promised for over a hundred hours of new content of Conquest and Scenario gameplay. In addition to the DLC, LGM Games has announced some new free content for owners of the base game, which will include rare enemy alien ships that will drop epic equipment. Starpoint Gemini Warlords is available now on PC, with the Cycle of Warfare DLC available on October 5. Stay tuned for more news here on Gaming Trend.
