Using a Wii remote, the Oculus Rift, and the Virtualizer, a curious contraption that tracks foot movement and whether the player is sitting or standing, the folks at Cyberith were able to create what looks like a pretty immersive virtual reality experience in Grand Theft Auto 4.
The prospect of virtual reality is one that gamers and developers alike have been toying with since the extremely early days of gaming, and it seems like every day we get one step closer toward that goal. The Cyberith team hopes to get the Virtualizer into the market by 2014, so keep an eye out for this promising device next year.
