Cozy power-washing sim, Pixel Washer, arrives at Steam Next Fest

A new cozy indie demo by Acclaim, Inc. is here. Anyone with Steam can now download the demo for Pixel Washer, a cozy game where you clean up a town by blasting it with water. For full details, read the information below:

LOS ANGELES — June 15, 2026 — Publisher Acclaim, Inc. today announced that the Steam demo for Pixel Washer, a cozy, retro-inspired power-washing sim where players restore a grimy pixelated town to its former glory, is now available as part of Steam Next Fest: June Edition.

The Pixel Washer demo lets players spray their way through six stages, choosing from two unique sprayer types to transform the crud-crusted city into a pixel art utopia.

“Ding ding ding! That's Pixel Washer's satisfying power-washing sounds. I've heard them thousands of times over the last few years as I've been making this game, and now you can hear them too,” said Matt Hackett, the creator of Pixel Washer.

Developed by California-based indie developer Valadria, Pixel Washer puts players behind the stylish goggles of Pigxel, a pig tasked with turning filthy environments into shining pixel art masterpieces. Armed with a trusty power washer, players blast dirty sprites back to a pixel-perfect shine across a wide variety of sullied settings, all set to a chill soundtrack.

Feeling up to the challenge of bringing a brilliant shine to this muddy metropolis? Download the Pixel Washer demo here.

“Pixel Washer started as a solo dev project, which I wrote from scratch by hand. From the very beginning it felt like a small and humble game, so I was surprised and delighted that Acclaim came on board to publish. With their help, I was able to recruit a skilled level designer and talented pixel artists to make this a better game than I could on my own,” said Pixel Washer’s creator, Matt Hackett.

“I've been playing Acclaim games for decades so this feels like a full-circle moment for me. I'm so proud of this scrappy little indie game, grateful to Acclaim for partnering with me on my studio's first game, and super excited for you to check out Pixel Washer. Pigxel the pig awaits, go wash some pixels!”
