Borderlands 3 officially revealed with a gameplay trailer, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition announced

Today during their panel at PAX East 2019, Gearbox’s Paul Sage and Randy Pitchford officially announced Borderlands 3 with a development video. The trailer gives players a look at the environments, weapons, and all around badassery the series is known for.

Little information on the game was revealed, but we can speculate something we’ve seen in the trailer which seems to be a higher emphasis on multiplayer, “a billion guns,” new vehicles, “guns with legs,” weapons, and powers. Of course, it wouldn’t be Boderlands without a little silliness, as the trailer also features a Brick sax solo.

Borderlands: Game of the Year - Official Trailer

In addition to Borderlands 3, Gearbox announced Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, which features new weapons, a visual upgrade, character heads, gold chests and keys, and all 4 add-on packs. Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition will be released on April 3rd for Xbox One, PC via Steam, and PlayStation 4.

The last mainline Borderlands game released was Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in 2014, which, as its name implies, takes place between the first Borderlands and Borderlands 2. This game and Borderlands 2 were both re-released in 2015 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. With Borderlands: Game of the Year edition, all three titles have finally reached current-gen consoles. More information on Borderlands 3 will be revealed on April 3rd on the official Borderlands website.
