GF9 is offering another chance to boldly go where no one has gone before, announcing two new Away Teams for Star Trek: Away Missions. The new expansions are based on The Original Series, with the teams being led by Captain Kirk & Commander Scotty. These are the first expansions for the game not based on The Next Generation series, showing a glimpse of the possibilities in the future.
“Since its release in August 2023 Star Trek: Away Missions has proven itself to be an incredibly popular part of our line-up, and we’re thrilled to be able to announce the arrival of the latest expansion packs,” said GF9 CEO John-Paul Brisigotti. “Kirk & Scotty will be tremendous additions to an already stellar set of beloved Away Teams, they’re going to bring something to the table that other teams don’t and we’re excited to see how that affects the competitive landscape of the game.”
Captain Kirk & Commander Scotty’s Away Teams, will both introduce the “beam away” ability to the game, as well as bringing iconic characters such as First Officer Spock and Communications Officer Uhara to the tabletop.
Star Trek: Away Missions is a tactical miniature-based board game pitting two Away Teams against each other. Players vie to complete their missions amongst the wreckage of the battle of Wolf 359. Kirk and Scotty are the latest expansions in this line, bringing the amount of Away Teams to choose from up to 8 – each with their own playstyle.
Players will be able to beam down as Kirk, Scotty, and their crews in March.
