BoardGameTables.com, founded eight years ago, is currently in the process of changing their name to Allplay and launching a new website, www.letsallplay.com, in January 2023. Despite the name change, the company states that nothing else will be changing. Discussing the decision to change the name, BoardGameTables.com stated “we are fully committed to supporting and expanding all our product lines. The word ‘tables’ in our name was causing people to think that our non-table offerings were just side projects and that we weren’t serious about them. Allplay better reflects what we are trying to do going forward.” You can check out the full press release below:
BoardGameTables.com was founded eight years ago. At the time, we only sold board game tables. Through the years we’ve added bags, playmats, and shelves, as well as publishing seventeen board games and eight expansions. The change reflects both who we have become and where we want to go.
Allplay wants more people to have game nights. We believe game nights bring people together and strengthen relationships.
Allplay publishes games that are approachable and easy to learn, but are still strategic and make you want to play over and over again. If you take your strategy seriously, then Allplay games are for you. If you’re playing more for the social hangout, then Allplay games are also for you.
Allplay also makes everything else you might need for your game night. Tables or playmats to play on and elevate the whole experience. Bags to transport your games. And, most recently, shelves to store and show off your game collection.
The name change takes effect immediately, but it will be a few months until the website, social media, etc are all updated. We will still be selling products and using some print media with the BoardGameTables.com logo for quite a while as we move through existing inventory.
Tables are still a very important part of our business. This isn’t going to change. We are continuing to sell, market, and improve our tables. We will continue to support the thousands of customers who have purchased tables from us for the last eight years.
While it may seem like a big change, at our core, nothing is truly changing. This is about updating our name to match what we are already doing. The name Allplay shows our commitment to making products for all people, and making all the products you need for a great game night.
You can still shop at BoardGameTables.com. Sometime in January, that website will start redirecting to www.letsallplay.com, but the products will be the same ones that you’ve come to know and love.
They’ve Come a Long Way!
BoardGameTables.com was founded in 2014, selling custom-built board game tables. They started selling a line of more affordable tables in 2016, board game bags in 2017, board games in 2018, playmats in 2020, and shelves in 2021. Since 2017 they have published seventeen board games and eight expansions. Earlier this year, they signed an exclusive agreement with Asmodee North American to place their games in distribution for the first time.
Their name is changing to reflect the growth at the company over the last eight years.
Why Allplay?
All the same great games and products with a shiny new name!
“We are fully committed to supporting and expanding all our product lines [tables, games, accessories, and shelves]. The word “tables” in our name was causing people to think that our non-table offerings were just side projects and that we weren’t serious about them. Allplay better reflects what we are trying to do going forward.”
“We want families, friends, and even strangers to play games together. It is a fantastic way to start and grow relationships. Allplay can be there for every part of game night,” said company founder Chad DeShon. “We’re going to continue to focus on games that are easy to teach, but still have layers of strategy.”
“Tables are still a huge part of our business. That isn’t changing. We’ll continue to support customers who have purchased tables in the past and work on making improvements for customers who are going to purchase in the future,” said Chad DeShon
“Changing our name to Allplay isn’t about making changes to our offerings. It is about changing our name to reflect what we are already doing.”
