Bloober Team has announced that Cronos: Lazarus, the upcoming narrative DLC for its hit survival horror title Cronos: The New Dawn, will release on December 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S at a price point of $9.99. A dedicated Nintendo Switch 2 edition is slated to arrive shortly after in the first quarter of 2027. Following the base game's breakout commercial run and its multiple Digital Dragons 2026 wins, including Game of the Year, this expansion broadens the dark sci-fi universe by diving straight into prequel territory.
Stepping into the shoes of the Pathfinder, an operative serving the Collective, you uncover the tragic sequence of events that ultimately leads to your transformation into the Warden. While undertaking an unauthorized revival mission, you find yourself relentlessly pursued by the Tracker, a specialized enforcer dispatched by the organization to eliminate you before your defiance comes to light.
To outlast this persistent hunter, you will engage in a faster, more aggressive combat system that emphasizes rapid tactical adjustments. You can employ short-range teleportation to slip away from danger, deploy holographic decoys that confuse hostile swarms while briefly cloaking you from sight, and cut down foes with the Gladius, a swift blade far more lethal than your standard dagger.
Cronos: Lazarus returns to the dark sci-fi horror universe of Cronos: The New Dawn, expanding on the story introduced in last year’s original. This third-person survival horror builds on Bloober Team’s signature blend of oppressive atmosphere, intense encounters and resource-driven survival, with faster-paced action and more aggressive combat that demand quick thinking and tactical precision.
Players step into the role of the Pathfinder, an agent of the Collective, uncovering the events that led to his tragic transformation into the Warden. Standing in the Pathfinder’s way is the Tracker, a relentless envoy of the Collective tasked with hunting him down before he can complete a revival mission the organization must never uncover. Set before the original game, the DLC explores Pathfinder’s past and reveals new details about the Collective and the consequences of defying its authority.
To survive, players will wield new abilities, including teleportation for rapid repositioning and a decoy that distracts enemies while briefly rendering the Pathfinder invisible. The expansion also introduces the Gladius, a faster, deadlier weapon than the original game’s dagger.
