Blizzard celebrates Hearthstone expansion with Ice Cream Citadel at SDCC

Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating its Knights of the Frozen Throne expansion for Hearthstone at San Diego Comic-Con with a weekend full of nefariously fun and frosty Lich King-themed events.

On Saturday, July 22nd, Blizzard will be taking over the Knotty Barrel Gastropub, transforming it into the Heartstone Tavern, for fans to gather for food, drinks, and a variety of games, including Hearthstone’s Tavern Brawl and corn hole. Additionally, there will be photo ops with Hearthstone eSports team, Tempo Storm, Lich King’s Frozen Throne, and his pet dragon, Sindagrosa, who will be modeled by cosplayer Jessica Nigri. The Knotty Barrel is located at 844 Market St, San Diego, CA 92101, and the event will run from 6 to 10PM.

Fans with and without Comic-Con badges can cool down by visiting the Petco Park parking lot, which will be transformed it into the realm of the villainous Lich Kingfrom July 20th to 23rd. This transformation will manifest itself as the Ice Cream Citadel, where you can enjoy free liquid nitrogen ice cream and take picture with Blizzard’s most infamous villain, The Lich King himself on his Frozen Throne. Petco Park is located at  100 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101 (across from the SD Convention Center), and is open from 9AM to 9PM every day of the convention save Sunday, when it will close at 5PM. Cosplayer Jessica Nigri, appearing as the Lich King’s pet dragon, Sindagrosa, will be available for photos on Thursday, July 20th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

If you’re worried about making it from the convention center to either of these events, fret no more! The Knights of the Frozen Throne Pedicab will be available to shuttle fans to and from the SD Convention Center to Blizzard’s events on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
