Capcom revealed today that Okami HD is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC in December this year. Okami was initially released in 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and later the Wii, and received massive critical acclaim for its Sumi-e ink art style, Legend of Zelda inspired gameplay and unique story influenced by Japanese folklore.
Okami HD features updated graphics intended for high-resolution, such as the PlayStation 4 Pro’s 4K graphics. Players will be able to choose between a modern widescreen format and the legacy 4:3 of 2006. Other than resolution compatibility, there does not appear to be any significant graphical or gameplay changes as of press time.
This isn’t the first time Okami has been retouched for modern consoles. A similar high-definition port was released on PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network in 2012. This year’s re-release marks the first time Okami has been ported to Xbox platforms and PC.
Okami HD will be released digitally and physically on December 12, 2017. It will retail for approximately $19.99.
