For many people, a Creality printer is their first introduction to 3D printing. It was for me, way back with the Ender 3v2. Creality has always focused on being accessible to the home user and bringing incremental improvements to their growing line of products. Creality is celebrating 10 years today and has some truly exciting announcements to commemorate the anniversary.
Perhaps most anticipated is the newly announced Creality K2 Plus with Creality Filament System (CFS). The K2 will have a 350mm cubed build volume putting in a nice sweet spot between the smaller K1 and enormous K1 Max. The larger build volume isn’t the only thing to look forward to though. The CFS will enable up to 16 color prints and create some competition for the Bambu Lab printers. The CFS uses RFID technology to manage colors and also acts as a sealed dry box to ensure your filaments are always printing at peak performance. The CFS will hold up to four 1kg rolls and can be linked with up to four total CFS to accommodate a whopping 16 colors. That’s a lot of colors. The K2 will become the new flagship model so we can expect a whole line of K2s with different sizes and feature options as time goes on.
For those not willing to invest in the pricier K series printers, you aren’t being left out either. The Ender lives on. The Ender-3 V3 Plus builds on the latest Ender model with a larger 300x300x330mm build volume and features the K series print head running on rails and utilizing Klipper to print extremely fast. You get all of the latest innovations in fast printing but at the budget cost of a bed slinger.
Into resin printing? Creality has you covered their as well. The HALOT-Mage S has a 10.1″ mono LCD and boasts an incredible 14k resolution. It has a built in air filter and is WIFI enabled for remote printing. At that resolution, you should be able to print models on par with the best cast and injection molded plastics out there.
Creality is pushing the boundaries beyond 3D printing as well. The Falcon2 Pro 60W Laser Engraver is really powerful and features a complete enclosure and built in camera for safety and monitoring. From engraving to cutting, the Falcon2 is a versatile addition to your hobby shop. As a tabletop enthusiast, I can think of so many applications for a laser engraver. From terrain building to game piece and board design, you can make pretty much and game piece you can think of when you combine laser engravers with 3D printing.
Also announced are two different 3D scanners that enable you to print models of anything you can find. The CR-Scan Otter can scan objects from 10-2000mm at 0.02mm accuracy with build into anti-shaking technology to provide smooth scans while used hand held. The CR-Scan Raptor uses seven lasers for greater precision and can scan objects from 5-2000mm.
With all of these new printers, you are going to need a lot of filament and Creality isn’t holding back. They have announced 50 new colors that will use the new RFID management system so you can make the most of your CFS and create stunning prints with the exact colors you want.
Creality is doing more than just hardware and materials. 3D printing has so many applications and one that stands out as super practical is printed shoes. The Dragon Flame and Dragon Horn shoes are reminiscent of other popular brands but able to be printed at home with flexible filaments. Being able to print your own shoes is pretty cool, but if they are durable and stand up to real use, models like these could be used to help those in the world that lack proper footwear. I hope that is the case.
Whatever your 3D printed needs are, Creality wants to deliver it. Competition is stiff these days, but Creality continues to be a great choice for new comers and seasoned hobbyist alike.
A life long video gamer, Mark caught the Tabletop itch in college and has been hooked ever since. Epic two player strategy games are his favorites but he enjoys pretty much everything on the tabletop, just no Werewolf please. When he gets a break from changing diapers and reading bedtime stories he can usually be found researching new games or day dreaming about maybe one day having time for a ttrpg. Some of Mark's favorite games are Star Wars: Rebellion, A Feast for Odin, and Nemesis.
