It seems that 343 Industries and Microsoft hope to see the Halo franchise last for another 30 years.
Speaking with Bloomberg, 343’s Bonnie Ross discussed the future of the Halo series, and how she hopes to help the series find longevity with diverse characters, meaning “characters that people can identify that: heroic females and heroic males,” as well as through ensuring that the development process featured a diverse group of people at the helm. Ross hopes that this will ultimately give the series a wide enough appeal to maintain a lifespan of “another three decades.”
Ross goes on to describe the process of forging 343 Industries into a studio that was full of diverse employees was an incredibly “crazy” process. Ross called it the “most challenging thing [she’s] ever done.”
343’s latest release is the Master Chief Collection, a compilation of all four mainline Halo games for the Xbox One. For more on that, check out the Gaming Trend review.
