2K Sports releases stunning next-gen trailer for NBA 2K14

2K Sports has released a new trailer for NBA 2K14’s next generation, coinciding with the retail release of the game for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.  The video, named “Momentous”, shows the capabilities 2K’s Eco-Motion engine as well as the updated player models and on-court animations and features a wide array of today’s best basketball players.

The video itself is remarkable.  By far the most impressive next-gen basketball teaser, the trailer goes into the deepest detail to show how players move on the court, react on defense, shoot, pass, drive to the basket, celebrate, dunk, and debate bad calls, set to an upbeat top-40 hit.  2K shows it’s remarkable dedication to basketball as an art form, with precision detail in the way players emote, shift, move, and stride through space.  In one particular snippet, Kevin Durant takes a step-back jumper, and as the ball leaves his fingertips, he watches the ball move towards the basket, mouth slightly agape, and slowly turns body-first towards the other end of the court as his beautiful shot splashes through the net.

2K Sports has long been the standard for NBA video games, and with this latest trailer it appears their reign will not soon be toppled.  Developed by Visual Concepts, a 2K studio, NBA 2K14 (Rated E for Everyone by the ESRB) is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 systems and Windows PC.
