2K Games continues to provide news in a rather slow news week, this time announcing pre-order and post-game DLC for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The announcement of this DLC is definitely a bit puzzling. It’s going to bring up the popularized argument of “removing parts of the game and selling them as DLC” for many, but I’m just happy to see that 2K will support The Bureau past its release.
Below is the press release further detailing the forthcoming DLC.
Today, 2K Games and 2K Marin announce exclusive pre-order content and post-launch DLC for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. This narrative driven add-on content will allow players to continue to explore the mysterious XCOM universe and players who pre-order The Bureau will receive an exclusive bonus campaign side-mission called “Codebreakers.”
The Bearua: XCOM Declassified is one of the most interesting products coming in the next few months. Its announcement was met with unnecessary hate, and it’s coming right after the previous installment in the franchise, Enemy Unknown, was released and met with universal praise. It’s clear that The Bureau is a completely different experience, with a new developer and gameplay style, but there’s always going to be that select few who compares The Bureau to Enemy Unknown.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is releasing in a little over two months, on August 20th. Below is a new trailer.
