It was a fantastic and hectic week for the entire gaming industry, and everyone is in need of well-deserved rest. Now, any sane person might think that after being completely consumed by all things video games last week, we’d might want to take a break from it all. Go outside and let the warmth of the sun and the flow of a cool breeze wash over us. But we’re gamers, that is not how this works. We relax and unwind by playing more video games. Plus, there is a friggin’ Steam Summer Sale happening right now. There is no time to go outside and warm sun,
blah, blah, blah. Here is how the GT staffers are unwinding this weekend:

I just beat The Last of Us last night, so I’m caught in this weird chasm that I usually find myself in after beating a game that puts me through the emotional ringer. Journey did it, and now The Last of Us. I feel at a loss that my first experience with that game is over and it’ll be a few days before I can jump into anything meatier again. So this weekend will be most likely made up of smaller gaming experiences.
I’ve been playing Rayman: Fiesta Run on my phone, so more of that. I’ll probably play some more Peggle 2. And of course dive into whatever games I decide to pick up on the Steam sale.

E3 has left me with a bunch of stuff to do, and though I hope to NOT deal with any games this weekend, where I live it looks like at least half the weekend is going to be raining. Not only does this foster the gaming bug in me, but it also helps a crazy mosquito population. Did I mention that they love me? I think I’m on their travel guides – perhaps my blood is laced with delicious BBQ sauce or something.
Either way, I may Skylander it up with the boy, though I suspect Minecraft will be first on his mind. I’d be playing Transistor or Super Time Force if I didn’t have so many things to write about – any free gaming time I’d have for myself goes into GamingTrend articles.

Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs… Watch Dogs… and more Watch Dogs.
Me and the lil’ lady have finally decided to pick up a PlayStation 4 this weekend, and after only a short debate about which new game-baby to bring back home we choose to blow the dust off my PS3 reservation for the title and convert it to it’s Generation 8 variant. I’m excited to see what it’s like to have an entire city as our weapon… It’s like having christmas in June and I can’t wait!

I've been a huge fan and critic of games and movies ever since I had a voice to speak about them. I love power and influence of great storytelling, interactive and otherwise, and now want to be more than just a consumer. My biggest strength in this regard?
Almost every time, I'm fair all the time.
