SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Chair review — A great chair which is equally at home in a game room or an office

Deciding on a new chair – whether for gaming, leisure, or an office – can be an almost overwhelming task due to the sheer number of available options. Realistically speaking, nearly any choice would, at minimum, suffice for the basic task of sitting. But those who spend countless hours in a chair daily will need to take some time to find one that suits their needed comfort level, while also providing any extra amenities that they may need to make it through long sitting sessions. Enter the SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Chair, a basic, yet surprisingly versatile chair which will be just as great in your office as in your gaming room.

While the SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Chair may not have the frills of some higher cost chairs, it does excel where it matters most – comfort. The SIHOO M18 is remarkably comfortable and features a fantastic 126-degree tilt which allows you to go from working to lounging in a snap. Add in adjustable arm and head rests, an S-shaped back, adjustable lumbar support, and a thick yet comfortable seat and you’ve got a winner which sells for a fraction of the more exotic chairs available on the market.

First, let’s talk about set up and design. Set-up is simple, taking up only one page of instructions, and involves snapping together a few items and inserting a few screws and, before you know it, the chair is ready to use. The entire set-up process can easily be completed in 15 minutes alone, although it is always a good idea to have a second just in case. You do not even need your own tools as everything required is provided in the box. Once assembled, the chair looks great, although basic. You’ll find no elaborate emblems, no colorful stitching, and well – no real semblance of anything that distinguishes it from other office chairs, at least during an initial glance. But this isn’t a knock against it, as it ensures that the chair will blend in seamlessly to any setting and can be used by all ages or occupations, without fear that it may be unprofessional looking.

I’ve sat in my fair share of chairs, from $550 gaming chairs to basic $50 office chairs, but the SIHOO M18 blew many of those out of the water from a comfort and support standpoint, especially at its price point. Like with any chair, you may not have the same experience, but for me the SIHOO just seemed to perfectly fit the contours of my body, allowing me to comfortably sit with full back and lumbar support, while providing options to adjust multiple aspects to suit the correct support and posture I needed to handle whatever task I was currently working on. But if I’m being honest, the 126-degree tilt is what really sold me. The tilt allowed me to lean back without ever feeling like the chair will tip, which I can’t say about all chairs with far leans.

So, let’s talk specs and features. The SIHOO M18 can be raised from around 43” to 51” and has a seat which is right around 21” wide, or around 27” wide if you include the armrests. The armrests can be adjusted up to 2.8”, with multiple levels in-between. The tilt, the main selling point for me, ranges from 90-degrees to 126-degrees and does so effortlessly. I never felt like I was in danger of leaning back on accident, but a mere push would easily get me to my desired tilt. If you do happen to feel that the lean is too much, then you can adjust the tension to make it a bit tougher and to prevent unexpected leaning.

An adjustable headrest sits atop the S-shaped back and is able to be rotated up to 45-degrees while also having 3.9” of up and down movement so you’re guaranteed to find the perfect height for your head. The chair itself is made from polyester mesh, along with a steel and nylon armrest frame and PU armrest surfaces. The seat is made with a thick rebound decompression cushion which is around 3.35” thick and made from virgin medium soft white cotton. The s-shaped backrest has an adjustable lumbar support pillow which can be adjusted using a knob located behind the chair. The M18 is able to hold up to 330 lbs and has passed the BIFMA chair test.

While the SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Chair normally retails for around $200, you can purchase the chair for only $150 using this link provided by SIHOO.

Review Guidelines

The SIHOO M18 Ergonomic Chair is a great office and gaming chair for far less than many other market options, though it lacks some of the flashier elements of the more expensive brands. Still, the M18 is versatile, featuring a much-appreciated tilt, adjustable head and arm rests, a thick seat cushion, and great lumbar support. Most importantly, the M18 is comfortable, even when used for long periods of office work.
