Ink from Snowbright Studio asks you what chicanery you would get up to if death was not final, but an opportunity to level up? If you have ever wondered what playing an RPG would be like when you die instead of being permanent there was an opportunity for leveling up, take a seat and check out Ink.
Sitting down to do a one-shot at Origins Game Fair 2023, it was clear that anyone looking for a unique, fun experience from an RPG should look no further than Ink. A smaller, yet very accessible book, filled with fantastically beautiful art, Ink’s drastically different mechanism that players are treated to is the leveling system. Players when a whole team dies, then proceeds to level up. With this mechanism death goes from something that seems more daunting and final, to something that can be utilized as a tool to progress further in the game.
While ultimately not completely dissimilar to RPGs out there, the art, the fun, the character building, the simplicity in getting up and running, and combat system all combine to present players an experience unlike many others out there.
After having spent one day at Origins, it was clear to me that anyone that enjoys RPGS and is a fan of RPGS should stop by the Snowbright Studio booth and sign up for a demo, and pick up a copy during the weekend.
