I sat down with Mel MacCoubrey, Narrative Director (not Narrator!) for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey for an extensive chat. We talked at length about player choice, family, the roots of Assassin’s Creed, and how Odyssey is looking to change them for the better with a brand new approach to the formula. In point of fact, this new system provides over 30 hours of choice-based interactive cinematic storytelling moments, pushing the game into well over 100 hours of gameplay territory.
Once you check out this interview, check out my hands-on preview. In it I provide extensive video and nearly 3000 words just covering the first eight hours of this appropriately named Odyssey.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is coming to Xbox One, Xbox One X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Plus, and PC on October 5th, or October 2nd if you pre-order. Stay tuned for our review (and far more 4K capture at max settings) on PC at launch.
