The excitement for the Aliens franchise is coming to a head. With Prometheus coming out in theaters on Friday, June 8, 2012, the hype couldn’t be any stronger. However, video game fans have been awaiting for the Aliens to burst out for a while now. When Sega made an announcement about Aliens: Colonial Marines in 2008, they generated a large amount of buzz. While gamers had seen the Queen in the Aliens vs. Predator series, the Aliens never got a chance to shine on their own. After many months with no news about the game, suspicion that the game had been secretly canceled grew. Since those rumors Aliens: Colonial Marines has been confirmed, and while the game has been delayed again from spring of this year to February of 2013, the team at Gearbox could not be happier to display the game in its current form at this year’s E3. We got a chance to talk with Brian Martel, the Chief Creative Officer and co-founder of Gearbox Software about the development of Aliens: Colonial Marines, the storyline behind it, what they have in store for the multiplayer, and a few other surprises as well.
