Secretlab’s high standard is no secret. Although they come at a high price to match, the TITAN Evo is a phenomenal gaming chair. I thought as much in our review, which you can read below. That said, at the cost of a console, being stuck with a single aesthetic could be frustrating. Could is the keyword here, as Secretlab has come up with a solution to that concern. SKINS are here, and after applying one to my chair, I’m happy to report it’s a great option for those who want more pizzazz from their investment.

Secretlab TITAN Evo gaming chair review — The Cadillac of gaming chairs
Treat your back and bottom to greatness

SKINS are essentially a specialized cover for your chair. While you can certainly purchase something aftermarket, Secretlab’s design is contoured to fit your TITAN Evo, where those may miss the mark. These come in many different aesthetics, with a lot of great choices that bridge several fandoms, along with quieter designs for those not interested in repping a brand.

My choices came in the form of two of my favorite franchises – Star Wars and Cyberpunk 2077. Watching the videos below, you can see how different these two are, which can make my desk and gaming space pop without spending another half a grand. Priced starting at $99.99, it’s a valid option for someone like me who wanted a special design but wasn’t available at the time.

Your options don’t stop at design, but also include the fabric used. Secretlab has two models, the aforementioned SKINS Lite – a smoother, almost silky material – and their Secretlab SoftWeave, a thicker fabric that is more durable and developed from the chair of the same name. While the two I received are the Lite, the SoftWeave is intriguing, given its more plush material that cradles your body a bit more than the Lite. These are a bit more expensive, between $170-$200, with a limit to Harry Potter themed designs.

Putting these onto my TITAN Evo is as easy as assembling the chair was, which speaks to the simplicity Secretlab delivers. There’s a nice card with the instructions clearly marked in the box, along with a QR code to take you to video instructions should you need that direction. Within minutes, my SKIN was on the chair, and with a few tugs, it was snugly in place.

You barely know a SKIN is on the TITAN Evo chair just looking at it. Secretlab’s design team has made sure to precision-map these to a tee, disguising them to the point you’d think you have a new chair. All of the hardware involved is largely hidden, with zippers showing but out of the way, and clips that lock into your seat from two points. There are only two places where I can tell while seated that this is a cover – in between the wings and in the middle of the seat. The SKIN comes off of direct contact with the chair due to the concave design of the TITAN Evo. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it is noticeable.

As mentioned above, I chose two covers. There are several other designs available, but I really love the incredible artwork that’s been crafted for these two SKINS. While I’d love the bright yellow leather of the Cyberpunk 2077 chair, the cool neon purple and blue, along with the Samurai symbol on the back, make for an eye-catching pattern. The Star Wars SKIN boasts Aurebesh characters from the universe, along with Luke Skywalker's lightsaber adorning the back. Both of these covers are the epitome of how you do collaborations: find something unique. Also fun is that these designs aren’t official chairs, so the only way to sport them on your TITAN Evo is via a SKIN.

Although the fashion is nice, the function is what ties it all together. These are comfortable to sit on, adding a little cushion to your chair. The biggest benefit comes in the protection SKINS offer for your TITAN Evo. It serves as a barrier between dirt and stains, taking the heat should you accidentally spill something or drop crumbs. Best of all, it’s machine washable, so you can throw it in the wash and be good to go again quickly. Another plus is less wear and tear on your leather – I’ve seen some absolutely nasty chairs cracked to bits. This 360° protection is a godsend, especially for the investment required with a Secretlab TITAN Evo.
