After over a decade, the College Football franchise made its way back to our lives with College Football 25. In the last year, CFB25 got everyone's attention by becoming the highest-selling sports game in history. However, with most sports games, we’re getting one every year, so what changes have been made?

First off, the team’s saying for this year is “WE ARE FOOTBALL” which takes into account the very clear desire to have the most realistic college football experience possible. From the sights and sounds to the gameplay and everything in between. They want to bring Saturdays to your home in the best ways possible.

I had the opportunity to visit EA Orlando to see a preview of College Football 26. Over the next few months, we’ll be discussing everything from the Dynasty Mode’s updates to the new mechanics for Road to Glory and more!

We will not be talking about anything overly specific as we’ll have very specific coverage happening throughout the next few months, so if I don’t go in-depth on something, don’t worry, I’m doing it on purpose!

Today, we’ll be talking about the updates I saw during our hands-on experience with the latest build of CFB26 accessible to the press.

During this time, I played as the University of Tennessee vs Texas A&M while hovering over some of the friends I met during my time with EA to see how others were handling the new updates. These teams included Alabama, Kent State, Kentucky, and FSU.

Tennessee has a lot of plays in their offensive playbook and sometimes they can be overwhelming to look at. However, it’s fun to experiment with their repertoire and try the new formations, plays, and players for this year, including QB Joey Aguilar. It’s clear that the defense has gotten some upgrades, as getting picked off wasn’t as common as my time playing last year. Seemingly, if the player cannot see the ball, they cannot magically pick off the ball.

Weather is something else I got to try out during my game. I made it snow hard in Knoxville’s Neyland Stadium. While this doesn’t happen a lot in real life, this is just fantasy, so here we go. Night time looks great with the new showcase in the pre-game, which you can see a bit in the trailer for CFB26. The snow did impact my game as players slid around and the visuals changed on the field.

While we can’t say much right now, just know that the team is still just as passionate about this product as they were with last year’s release of CFB25. This year, however, they have the ability to make changes that help quality of life while adding brand new aspects to how you’ll play the game from the top down.
