One of the reasons many players default to a launcher like GOG is having your entire library handy. Xbox is looking at that and making a change, with the PC app getting an aggregated library feature. This is probably a step towards integrating even more into their devices, like the ROG Xbox Ally, but possibly towards the next console generation. At any rate, it's awesome and we can't wait for it to drop for everyone. Check out the details below.
Today, via an Xbox Insiders blog post as well as Xbox Wire, we announced that Xbox Insiders in the PC Gaming Preview can experience a first-look at the new aggregated gaming library feature within the Xbox PC app for Windows 11 PCs and handheld devices – which will bring together titles from Xbox, Game Pass, Batttle.net, and other leading PC storefronts into a single library. This feature will be available within the Xbox full screen experience on the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X handhelds this holiday.
Whether gaming on a Windows PC or handheld device, here’s what Xbox Insiders in the PC Gaming Preview can expect:
-With the aggregated gaming library, players can conveniently launch games from Xbox, Game Pass, Battle.net and other leading PC storefronts from a single library within the Xbox PC app.
-When a player installs a game from a supported PC storefront, it will automatically appear in “My library” within the Xbox PC app, as well as the “Most recent” list of titles in the sidebar, making it easier than ever to jump back into your favorites.
-Support for additional PC storefronts will roll out over time.
How to Get Started – Xbox Insiders in the PC Gaming Preview:
-If you already have games installed from supported PC stores, they’ll now appear in My Library and Most Recent in the Xbox PC app.
-Don’t want to see them? You can manage visibility by going to: Profile > Settings > Library & Extensions and selecting “Hide” for any storefront and those titles will no longer appear.
