Warhammer 40K reveals new Defiler mini, as Chaos's big 2026 continues

Another 20+ year old miniatures gets an update.

Warhammer 40K reveals new Defiler mini, as Chaos's big 2026 continues

Games Workshop has revealed a brand-new Chaos Defiler miniature, bringing an updated look to the horrific machine/daemon combo. The Defiler walks on six crab-like legs and comes armed with a host of cannons and claws. The new Defiler kit will come with head options to build the Defiler for one of the four Chaos Space Marine factions with full armies in Warhammer 40K, along with a generic head option for those who want to build the Defiler as part of a different warband.

The Defiler's current model was released back in 2003, making it one of the older models still produced by Games Workshop. The company's business model involves the periodic refresh of old miniatures, so it's not a surprise that the Defiler got a new build given the current model's age.

The Defiler continues a Chaos-focused theme to start 2026. Also announced was a new Iron Warriors character model and a new set of Chaos Mutilators, all of which will be released alongside a new Eye of Chaos narrative campaign book set for release later this year. Based on a blurb from today's announcement, the Eye of Chaos book will focus heavily on the Iron Warriors, which have largely been unrepresented on the tabletop over Warhammer 40K's history.

This latest batch of the models will likely be the last group of Warhammer 40K models released until the new edition of the game comes out later this spring or summer.
