Ahead of the impending Alpha launch on December 16th, Owlcat Games has given us a batch of new screenshots for the absolutely gorgeous Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy. These new screens have a lot to reveal, showcasing party members, incredibly detailed enemies and environments, gruesome combat, and our first look at the new mind map detective system. Let's get to it!

Players can join the Alpha by contributing to the development process and becoming a Founder on the Owlcat Games website. Alpha Access is one of the rewards included in the $79 tier and the $289 Collector’s Edition.

If you're behind on what this game is about, here's a quick look behind the scenes:

In Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy, the second narrative-driven tactical RPG set in the beloved grimdark universe, players step into the darkness as an acolyte of the Inquisition. In a sector of the Imperium overshadowed by the Noctis Aeterna and the mystery of the Tyrant Star, they will lead a warband of diverse companions in a desperate battle against heresy and corruption, from loyal Imperial subjects, such as a veteran Guardsman from the death world of Catachan, to nefarious xenos, including a bird-like Kroot mercenary.

With intricate investigations, a turn-based combat system, and choices that carry grave consequences, Dark Heresy is an atmospheric dive into the brutality and mysticism of one of the Imperium’s most feared organizations. The game greatly expands on the ideas introduced in Rogue Trader and features fully voiced dialogues.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is coming to Windows PC via SteamGOG, and Epic Games Store, and consoles via PlayStation 5 and  Xbox Series X|S. Players can add the game to their wishlist and support the development process by purchasing a Founder’s Pack on the official website.
