In case you missed the original crowdfunding, The Witcher: Legacy is now available for late pledges:
The crowdfunding campaign for The Witcher: Legacy, a story-driven board game set in the world of The Witcher, has now entered the Late Pledge phase, enabling new backers to support it even after the campaign has concluded. The project has become the largest live campaign on Gamefound, gathering nearly 30,000 backers and over €10.4 million in funding, a testament to the massive interest from The Witcher players and board game enthusiasts.
What is The Witcher: Legacy?
The Witcher: Legacy is a story-driven, action-adventure, cooperative board game for 1–4 players, created by Go On Board in partnership with CD PROJEKT RED. The game focuses on long-term narrative gameplay, where players take on the roles of witchers travelling through the Kaedwen, hunting monsters and making decisions that affect future sessions.
Itʼs a combination of deck-building, role-playing, exploration, and legacy mechanics. The Witcher: Legacy takes the best elements of The Witcher: Old World, one of the previous games from Go On Board portfolio (rated 7.8 on BoardGameGeek), and expands them with a huge story campaign that can be played for dozens of hours. The board game also includes a mode dedicated to solo players, as well as an Endgame scenario that adds longevity and even more replayability.
A second chance for new backers and latecomers
After a record-breaking crowdfunding campaign, The Witcher: Legacy has moved to the next stage with the opening of the Pledge Manager and the launch of the Late Pledge option. During this limited period, new backers still have the opportunity to support the project, while existing backers can modify and finalize their orders.
Backers gain benefits such as:
- Favorable price compared to the estimated retail price - being a part of the crowdfunding project community guarantees best possible bargain.
- Backers First program - a prioritization of logistics that supports shipment to backers before retail release.
- Access to free Gamefound Edition exclusives - like Companions for Endgame scenario, impressive additional monsters in Bestiary, side quests enhancing main campaign.
So if you somehow missed the campaign, you can still get a unique board game bundle that will be different from what later reaches retail.

Whatʼs new in Late Pledge?
With the launch of Late Pledge, the creators have updated the project page and added new high-quality add-ons crafted from community ideas that will enrich the gameplay experience, such as: the Artbook, Metal Bookmark, Shaded Gorgon Set, and Dice Tray Set. Completionists
and collectors may be particularly interested in a new pledge level that has appeared in the Rewards section – I Want It All. This bundle includes the core game and add-ons expanding game mechanics, and of course all Gamefound Exclusives.
What will be the future of the project?
The Witcher: Legacy significantly expanded over the course of its campaign. The Gamefound Edition now includes 18 new monsters, over 30 side quests, 3 additional adventures, numerous quality upgrades, and numerous components that enhance the game with new mechanics. All of these features significantly boost immersion and replayability.
It is also worth mentioning that in the final days of the original campaign, as a gesture of gratitude, the creators unlocked and introduced a final Stretch Goal: a free Narrative App. Thanks to this optional companion feature, players will have the opportunity to experience The Witcher: Legacy with professional voice-over available in seven languages. Considering the scale of the project and the hundreds of pages of scenario text and additional content, this may be one of the largest hybrid board games ever created, combining technology with a tabletop experience.
CD PROJEKT RED and Go On Board will continue working together to bring one of the most immersive tabletop experiences ever set in The Witcher universe to life. As the campaign wraps up its Late Pledge phase, Go On Board will continue to provide regular updates on the projectʼs progress and to polish its design.
