Season 9’s new map Fangwai City is an expansive new arena inspired by a Chinese megacity, blending ancient architecture with soaring futuristic skylines. Designed with clear, intuitive zones and a strong sense of verticality, Fangwai City offers layered traversal, elevated combat and dramatic destruction moments across curved bridges, suspended pathways and towering structures designed for strategic play. Fangwai City also features Smooth Destruction, allowing for cascading, physics-driven collapses and knock-on effects that create immersive, high-impact gameplay moments.
Players can also check out the new, large-scale, fast-paced 8v8 mode, Point Break. This attack-vs-defend mode unfolds in waves, with attackers pushing the front line forward as they destroy objectives while defenders fight to hold their ground. Packed with explosions, rapid momentum shifts and constant action, Point Break delivers a strategic yet accessible way to play.
To streamline and unify the experience, this season features an updated World Tour, which brings together all existing modes into one cohesive seasonal journey, making it easier than ever for players to not only see all of their progress in one place, but also look ahead to what is coming next. This season introduces a new map that visualizes the full seasonal path, including all events, sponsors and upcoming moments. Alongside this, THE FINALS Season 9’s Sponsor System has been reimagined to be fully flexible and player first. Free rewards are no longer locked behind sponsor choice, players can now earn and redeem every reward from every sponsor throughout the season. Season 9 introduces new sponsor loyalty tracks for Volpe and Ospuze as well.
THE FINALS Season 9: Dragon Rising also features new competitive and ranked updates, as well as quality of life improvements, including:
Double Jeopardy: This season offers a new rule for Cashout: Double Jeopardy. This new high-risk, high-reward rule adds a fresh layer of strategy and even higher stakes, as the team who starts the double will risk losing some of their cash if they fail to complete it.
Ranked Updates: Season 9 provides updated ranked progression and unified reward structure where both Ranked and World Tour allow players to earn reward coins that they can use to choose their end-of-season rewards.
Quality of Life + Balance Improvements: Gameplay, combat and technical improvements will be implemented, including dome/mesh shield updates, weapon tuning and expanded customization options. Moreover, as per player feedback, simple destructibles can now be simulated alongside their larger fractured counterparts, and smooth destruction has been added to numerous objects throughout the Monaco map.
Additionally, Season 9 will include a new Battle Pass with Free, Premium and Ultimate tiers, offering players multibucks and new rewards. This season’s Ultimate tier will be available for $29.99 and feature 118 total rewards, including 12 new Elite Skins, a 25% Match XP Boost, and 20 levels unlocked instantly. The Ultimate tier grants immediate access to top-tier cosmetics and delivers a total value of over 55,000 Multibucks.
