Today, Square Enix opened pre-orders for The Adventures of Elliot: The Milennium Tales on Nintendo Switch 2. More information about the game was also revealed.
The game sees Elliot journeying to lift the curse on Princess Heuria of Huther. He must cross through the Doorway of Time to visit four different periods of history: the present Age of Safekeeping, the Age of Reconstruction, the Age of Magic, and the Age of Budding.
In the Age of Reconstruction, humanity lives amongst the ruins of a more prosperous time. With no spell of Safekeeping to repel the beastmen, humans cling together in a village called Littlehope. Most villagers have given in to despair, one young man looks to the future with a glimmer of hope in his heart: Heurich (Nobuhiko Okamoto/Daniel Sean Smith). Heurich searches for a cure to his childhood friend Diona's illness while hoping the knowledge gained on this journey will help lead the world out of this dark age.

Meanwhile, Diona (Haruka Tomatsu/Katrina Salisbury) is left at home to fret over Heurich's recklessness, quarreling with him and their mutual friend Calotesia whenever he returns home. Calotesia (Chiwa Saito/Rebecca Wang) is Littlehope's resident historian, passionately discovering humanity's past despite the dark times. Elliot will cross paths with these characters on his own journey, seeking help and advice while offering his own in return.
In terms of mechanics, Elliot can equip and change accessories at any time from the equipment menu. Accessories grant various beneficial effects, such as doubling the window for a precise guard or preventing damage when falling into pits or lava. From screenshots, it looks like Elliot can equip up to three accessories at once, though two of the slots start out locked.

Elliot can accept various quests on his journey, earning new, unique items upon solving that NPC's troubles. These quests can involve anythign from gathering items, fighting enemies, and more. You'll want to complete these quests ASAP, as some may automatically fail after progressing the story. The quests menu will thankfully let you know when a quest will expire soon.
As you explore, you'll come across mysterious structures called Shrines of Life. In these shrines, you skills and intellect will be tested with combat challenges or puzzles, and completing the trial will award a shard of life, four of which will increase Elliot's max vitality by one.

As you explore the world, you'll naturally come in contact with enemies. Defeating enemies in succession without taking damage will trigger bonus time, increasing the amount of money and other items they drop.
For something completely different, Elliot can collect cats throughout the various eras of Philabielda. Taking these cats back to the Ailurophilic Traveler back in town will earn you various rewards. You can feed or play with the cats you've brought back to town too, purchasing toys for them at the item shop.

Lastly, Square Enix revealed teh collector's Edition for the game, featuring the base game, a four disc original soundtrack, all Digital Deluxe Edition content (the Fairy Bangle, Roselle Ring, and Anklet accessories), and a statuette of Faie and the Doorway of Time, which even functions as a tabletop clock.
