Robosen is dead set on bringing my childhood to life with their Transformers line of amazing robots. Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, and Grimlock are now joined by easily one of the best G1 Transformers of all time – Soundwave. Today they announced and showed off the first and only auto-converting Soundwave robot, and wow have they outdone themselves once more. Check it out!
Teaming up with Hasbro, Robosen has used their incredible signature robotics tech to bring this loyal (sometimes to a fault) Decepticon general to life in a way never before seen. More than just a new robot, the team has also upgraded their software significantly – let's get the inside track on what's new:
After years of dedicated R&D, the talented team at Robosen has successfully produced an exact replica of the iconic cassette player turned Decepticon gladiator, with a host of new servo technologies and upgraded algorithms, Soundwave breaks into the scene with life-like actions and sinister commands.
This robot is truly More Than Meets The Eye, as it also doubles as a functional Bluetooth speaker while in cassette mode! Stream your favorite music while Soundwave adorns your desktop, and skip through, pause and play all with the front facing retro tape deck buttons. Take your interaction even further by utilizing the integrated recording feature, which allows you to record your own audio with the click of its buttons.

There is nobody better to voice Soundwave than the voice of so many G1 Transformers (and let's face it – about 70% of everything else animated) – none other than the legendary Frank Welker. With some excellent audio engineering from Scott Brownlee, the two have resurrected over 200 classic lines from 1984 to now including "Soundwave superior, Autobots inferior" (from the movie!), "Destroy Autobots", "Ravage", "Open fire", "Attack!", "Megatron!" and much more. This is pure audio nostalgia dripped right into my ears.

Beyond audio work, the team has put a great deal of engineering expertise into this robot, elevating it over even their previous bots. Let's get under the hood, shall we?
Robosen takes its innovation to the next level, with the addition of articulating hip-joints, enabling the iconic and dynamic conversion, poses, and actions of Soundwave, which helps to create a more lifelike and fluid robotic experience! Blending 80's nostalgia and modern design, red lit accents are highlighted by premium materials like zinc alloy, aluminum and ABS, for a perfectly recreated TRANSFORMERS bot.
Equipped with 84 high-performance chipsets and 28 precision-built servo-motors, Soundwave is an engineering marvel to watch, as it converts from spy to robot, right before your eyes.

You'll want to act quick as Soundwave will set you back $999 at launch, with the price popping to the MSRP of $1399 post-launch.
