Samsung's 9100 Pro delivered top-tier next-generation speed in our review of the 2TB model when we reviewed it earlier this year and now they've shipped a larger capacity version of that drive – an 8TB model. The 9100 Pro and heatsink variant are available by the time you read this, formally unveiled at NVIDIA's GPU Technology Conference (GTC). Here's what Jim Kiczek, Vice President of Memory Product Marketing at Samsung Electronics America had to say about the announcement:
From AI-driven creators shaping the future to gamers pushing the limits, we saw a clear need for innovation to support users who need more forward-thinking memory technology as they push the bounds of what’s possible in their work, the 9100 PRO SSD establishes a new era of performance to help them achieve exactly that. With more storage, even better speeds, improved power efficiency and seamless reliability, the lineup empowers users to continue innovating without storage limitations.

If you move quick, you can also sweeten the deal a bit with an opportunity to snap up a 55" Odyssey Ark 2nd Gen Curved Gaming Monitor as well. Having seen one of these in person, let me tell you – it's a phenomenal panel that will raise your eyebrows.
It's not just the increased size for the 9100, but also a reduction in overall power, thanks to an advanced 5nm controller, and all without losing any read or write speeds.
- Supports PCIe 5.0 x 4, delivering 2x the speed of PCIe 4.0.
- Sequential read/write speeds: up to 14,800 MB/s and 13,400 MB/s, respectively.
- Random read/write speeds: up to 2,200K and 2,600K IOPS, respectively.
- Up to 49% more power-efficient than the 990 PRO, using less power than ever before.
- Offers a Heatsink version for an additional layer of thermal control.
- Samsung Magician Software streamlines migration, protects data, and optimizes SSD performance.
8TB of space is going to set you back $999 with the heatsink model coming in at $1,019.99. If you are currently running multiple drives, know that it's soaking up precious PCIe lanes, possibly slowing down your system. You might be slowing down every other component in your entire rig with a bunch of 1 and 2TB models. It might be time to consolidate.

You can snap up the 9100 Pro SSD in 1, 2, 4, and 8TB configurations, and both with and without heatsink available right here, or at the official Samsung site.
