Return to Tamagotchi with Tamagotchi Plaza, out now on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2

Today, Bandai Namco released Tamagotchi Plaza, the latest entry in the Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop series.

AMAGOTCHI PLAZA™, the latest entry in the TAMAGOTCHI™ CONNECTION: CORNER SHOP series, is now available worldwide. Published by Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc., the charming new title features cozy and engaging game play, where players explore the vibrant town of Tamahiko and befriend more than 100 unique and memorable Tamagotchi as they set up and manage a variety of fun shops. TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA is available now on Nintendo Switch™ and Nintendo Switch™ 2™. Both versions are compatible with the Tamagotchi™ Uni device, offering even more ways to connect and play. TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA brings back the series’ unique and engaging experience of setting up quirky shops and serving cute characters. The Great Gotchi King has declared that Tamagotchi Fest will be held in the most exciting city on Tamagotchi Planet. Players must help Prince Tamahiko turn Tamahiko Town into a lively place fit to welcome the festival by opening up shops and attracting new Tamagotchi friends. The game features a dozen different shops that include the Dentist and other returning classics along with new experiences such as Afternoon Tea Shop, Eyeware Shop and more to set up, customize, and grow. Each shop features unique gameplay as players serve and attract customers, meeting more than 100 different Tamagotchi and enhancing their and Tamahiko Town’s reputation. Players can bring friends along on the adventure, with some shops featuring couch co-op mini-games. 

TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA Nintendo Switch 2 edition offers bonus content and additional game play; players who own the Switch version of the game will get the bonus content if they own a Switch 2 and purchase the Switch 2 upgrade pack. TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA for Switch 2 features three unique new shops for a total of 15. The three shops only playable in Switch 2 can also tap into new Joy-Con™ 2 features. In the Sushi Shop, players can grip the new Joy-Con 2 to make sushi and serve their customers. They can dazzle them in the Shuriken Shop by showing off their skillful throwing techniques. In the combined Sushi Shuriken Shop, it’s all about speed where players must quickly prepare sushi and get it to their hungry customers. 

TAMAGOTCHI PLAZA features a linkage function with Tamagotchi Uni devices, allowing game players to connect with the latest toy model for the first time. By linking the Tamagotchi Uni, they will gain access to exclusive items and events not available in the base game, while supplies last. Tamagotchi Uni is sold separately and not available in all countries.
