I'm all about good software supporting hardware. Some gear makers have boosted their accessories into the stratosphere with their apps, and Razer is on that list. Today, they announced an open beta for a new version of their Synapse 4 software. Details are below, if you have Razer gear, it's sure to be worth checking out.
IRVINE, CALIF. – SEPTEMBER 2, 2025 – Razer™, the leading global lifestyle brand for gamers, today announced the launch of Razer Synapse 4 Open Beta, providing users with ongoing access to the next evolution of Razer’s device configuration software. Available as an opt-in experience, the open beta invites users to help shape Synapse through direct feedback and community collaboration – starting with the debut of Workshop, a powerful new customization hub built into Synapse 4 Open Beta.
“Synapse 4 Open Beta is a major milestone in how Razer builds software with our community,” said Quyen Quach, Vice President of Software at Razer. “We've launched this test flight program to invite gamers to be part of the development journey. Throughout the year, we'll give early access to upcoming major features via Synapse 4 Open Beta to give our community the opportunity to test, share feedback, and help refine new features before they officially launch on Synapse 4. Workshop is the first step to enabling users to personalize and share their settings and profiles with each other. We look forward to evolving Workshop and other Synapse features hand-in-hand with our community.
Introducing Workshop: One Stop. One Click. Endless Options
Workshop is a new community-driven platform built into Synapse 4 Open Beta, designed to make it easy for users to share and apply custom profiles. Whether it is a finely tuned DPI setting, a complex macro layout, or a full Razer Chroma™ RGB setup, Workshop will enable users to explore and adopt configurations from fellow gamers worldwide without relying on third-party links or file transfers.
To support the launch, Razer is partnering with top esports athletes like Snip3down to bring their competitive setups directly into Workshop. Users can browse curated profiles from professional players and apply them instantly, removing guesswork and enhancing gameplay.
Workshop is launching exclusively within Synapse 4 Open Beta, reinforcing Razer’s commitment to co-creating with its community. Beta users will be the first to test new features, provide feedback, and influence the future of Synapse. The current version supports Synapse profiles and macros, with Chroma profile support expected soon.
