Preem, the Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game just broke a Kickstarter funding record

All Pledge Tier Backers will receive an exclusive, special card.

Today, WeirdCo announced that they have broken the record for the highest funded games campaign in Kickstarter history, becoming the highest-funded game campaign ever on any crowdfunding platform. To celebrate, all pledge tiers will receive a special edition Foil Nova Rare V: Streetkid Card.

The project has raised $15.3 million and counting, surpassing the previous record held by Brandon Sanderson’s Cosmere Roleplaying Game, which raised $15.1 million on Kickstarter in 2024 and previously stood as the highest-funded game campaign in crowdfunding history. To mark the occasion, The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game team has announced a special edition Foil Nova Rare V: Streetkid Card that will be made available to all pledge tier backers.

This milestone comes shortly after the same Cyberpunk campaign broke the record for highest funded trading card game (TCG) in crowdfunding history, surpassing the previous record set by Altered TCG. Developed by WeirdCo in collaboration with CD Projekt Red, the trading card game invites players to assemble the ultimate edgerunner crew and face off against opponents in a battle to become a Night City legend.

How the crap does this even work, especially so well?
Originally launched with a funding goal of $100,000, The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game powered past that mark within its first five minutes on Kickstarter and has continued to rise ever since. As support has grown, additional add-on rewards featuring characters from both the original video game and the Netflix animated series have been unlocked for backers.

“There’s something really special about seeing Cyberpunk return to its tabletop roots and be met with this level of enthusiasm,” said Asher McClennahan, Kickstarter’s Head of Games. “For a franchise with this kind of legacy, the response says a lot about how eager fans are to connect with the world they love in new ways and how powerful crowdfunding can be in bringing those new experiences to life.”

“While we celebrate becoming the largest tabletop game in crowdfunding history, our game is a celebration of everywhere Cyberpunk has been, and everywhere it’s going. At WeirdCo, we prioritize nurturing the human connection and community building. We truly couldn’t have done this without our community, CDPR and Kickstarter,” said Elliot Cook, WeirdCo Co-Founder and President.

The success of The Official Cyberpunk Trading Card Game comes on the heels of a banner year for Kickstarter, marked by record-setting revenue and record-setting pledge volume. In 2025, Kickstarter also saw the EufyMake E1 UV printer become the most funded project of all time – not just on the platform, but in crowdfunding history – with more than $46 million in pledges.

I didn't even know there was a Cyberpunk trading card game, but this is great news! The art looks fantastic, and while I'm not too into TCGs I may check this out at some point. For more on all things Cyberpunk, stay tuned to GamingTrend.
